Bite of Greece Updates
Message from Chairpersons

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Christ Is Risen!

We pray that you are well and staying safe during this period of isolation.

While we don't have dates yet for the 2020 Bite of Greece, if you have access to the internet, there is something you can do from home to prepare for the next Bite!!

We're asking that all Bite of Greece volunteers obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card (also called a Food Handler Permit). The test can be taken from the comfort of your home!! (We would suggest waiting until June 6th to take the test so that your card is also valid for the 2021 and 2022 Bite). To start the course go to: https://www.foodworkercard.wa.gov Be prepared to pay a $10 fee to take the course. If you need financial assistance for the fee or have questions, please reach out to Kristina Mehas at (206) 390-7233 or kmmehas@gmail.com Once you've passed the test please email a copy of your card to Kristina at the address above.

This is also a good time to view the inspiring Metropolis of San Francisco Missions and Evangelism webinar on Festival Outreach with Fr Barnabas Powell:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i14VnDpTVNY

"...we have to assume that everyone who comes to our parish, for any event, but especially the festival, is someone who wants to become Orthodox, they may not know it yet, but we just assume they want to become Orthodox." Fr. Barnabas Powell

The first 45 minutes of the video is filled with numerous ideas regarding festival outreach. If you have comments, questions or ideas after watching the video, please share them with Alexis at boyda02@gmail.com and Kristina at kmmehas@gmail.com!!

We wish all of you peace, love and strength!!

In Christ, Alexis Katsis and Kristina Mehas, Bite of Greece Co-Chairs
