Bite of Greece - COVID-19 in Seattle
Message from Chairpersons

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We appreciate and understand the concern over whether or not the Bite of Greece will be held this year, especially with the ever-changing information about the COVID-19 response in Seattle. As of right now, we are operating under the assumption that the festival will be held as scheduled at the end of May.

Since the festival, and major preparations for it, are still at least a month away, we will continually monitor the situation and the recommendations and mandates coming from the city of Seattle, King County and the State of Washington, as well as the general mood of the public concerning social gatherings. We will make a decision about the festival dates in conjunction with Fr. Dean, the Parish Council and the chairs of the committees prior to any significant financial undertakings (e.g. purchasing food that could not be used or renting equipment).

We know that living with the uncertainty of this virus and its impacts to our work, social lives and church community is challenging and we also cannot predict what will occur in the next month or two so we feel that making a decision now is premature. We ask for your patience as we navigate this new territory and your prayers for the victims of this virus and those we are trying to stop it for. If you have any questions or concerns, you can direct them to Alexis.

In Christ, Kristina and Alexis
