Fr. Dean Kouldukis

Fr. Dean was born and raised in Seattle and holds a degree in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington. After working in sales and marketing, he pursued a Master of Divinity at Holy Cross Seminary in Massachusetts. He has served parishes in California and Hawaii, and since 2002 has been the presiding priest at Assumption. He also serves as the Vicar for Washington State under the Metropolis of San Francisco.

He and his wife, Presbytera Valerie, have been married since 1990 and are blessed with three children.

Fr. Daniel Armatas

Fr. Daniel was born and raised in Tacoma and attended St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.  He received a BA in literature from the University of Washington, a Master’s in Teaching from the University of Puget Sound and a MA in Theology from St. Vladimir’s Theological Seminary in New York.  Ordained to the Priesthood in 2005 and attached to Holy Resurrection in Tacoma, Fr. Daniel has covered for priests throughout the PNW in all jurisdictions.   Besides assisting at the Assumption, he is also a full time elementary school teacher in Kent and has taught for over 30 years.

Fr. Daniel met his wife Presbytera Maria at St. Vladimir’s as she was completing her MA in Theology.  They are blessed with two sons.

Fr. Michael Johnson

Fr. Michael was born and raised in Seattle and studied literature at the University of Washington. While preparing for ministry in an Episcopal seminary, he was drawn to Orthodox Christianity and was ordained in 1973. He has pastored parishes in Seattle and Tacoma and was the founding priest of Holy Apostles in Shoreline. He has also led ecumenical efforts, including the St. Petersburg–Seattle Sister Churches program and the Washington Orthodox Clergy Association.

A lifelong advocate for youth and Scouting, Fr. Michael has received the Prophet Elias Award—the Orthodox Church’s highest honor in Scouting—as well as the Silver Beaver Award and the BSA’s Honor Medal for extraordinary courage. Separately, he was awarded the title Washington General by the Governor in recognition of his civic leadership and community service. He and his late wife, Presbytera Mary, raised three daughters. Now retired, he continues to support the Church through liturgical service and pastoral presence
